Our verdict
The Koda 2 Pro is built for buyers who want the room to cook genuinely large pizzas and value integrated temperature monitoring. Its 18-inch capacity is the main attraction; the 30kg weight and sizeable footprint are the compromises.
Capacity
The Ooni Koda 2 Pro accommodates pizzas up to 18 inches. The oven measures 682 × 652 × 393mm, so it needs a generously sized, stable work surface.
That extra room is a genuine advantage. You can make a large centrepiece pizza, but we think the more useful benefit is having space around a standard 12-inch pizza when launching and turning it.
Anyone needing space for two pizzas should continue to our Ooni Koda 2 Max review.
Space and handling
The Ooni Koda 2 Pro weighs 30kg. At 682 × 652 × 393mm, it is best given a permanent or semi-permanent position rather than squeezed onto a small table.
This is the point we would think hardest about before buying. It can be moved, but its weight makes a permanent or wheeled setup far more appealing than carrying it out for every cook.
For a lighter 16-inch alternative, see the Ooni Koda 16 review.
Controls
Ooni Connect digital hub and one food probe included. Temperature display, alerts and cook logs through Ooni app.
Battery-powered electric spark ignition. The opening uses a removable 6mm glass visor. The connected temperature tools are one of the strongest reasons to choose this model over a simpler gas oven.
Fuel and heat
The Ooni Koda 2 Pro runs on propane gas and is for outdoors only. Its maximum temperature is 500°C, with a controllable range of 160–500°C.
Heat comes from two lateral tapered-flame gas burners. Gas keeps the learning curve short, although it removes live-fire fuel management.
If multi-fuel cooking matters more than the Koda’s larger capacity, continue to our Ooni Karu 2 Pro review.
Ownership
Less than 10 minutes.
Powder-coated carbon steel body; stainless-steel base and legs; cordierite stone. The standard warranty is 1 year, extending to 5 years when registered. Register it as part of setup so the longer term is not forgotten.
Trade-offs
The 30kg weight and large footprint make frequent movement awkward compared with compact gas ovens. It is also gas-only, so buyers wanting wood-fired cooking should look elsewhere.
Space, lifting weight and preferred fuel should settle the decision before smaller features do.
